One stormy night the rain fell hard upon the vineyard and the creek billowed with water. It was a long noisy night as a young family huddled inside together, protected from the cold, wondering what damage the storm and tomorrow would bring…

At first morning light the family and their friends wandered over their beloved vineyard and amongst the broken trees that had fallen across the creek in the flood waters. The little girls were splashing in puddles and running across the fallen tree stumps. As they moved further into the property the terrain became more treacherous but the little girls became more brave; daring each other to cross the next scary gap.

The youngest and smallest girl announced to the others that she was about to cross the thinnest log that was high above the water running wildly beneath. She summoned her courage and stepped out onto the log. A few steps more, she reached the middle of the log but abruptly stopped. Her nerves got the better of her and she froze. A single tear turned into a trembling sob and she started to sway with fear. The others looked on in fright while her Daddy reached out to her and encouraged her to walk to him. With a deep breath and a few small tentative steps, she was scooped up into her loving Fathers arms.

She had made it. She was safe. And so, Crossing Creek was born.
